Since 2008 Elaine has been conducting research at UBC School of Nursing in Vancouver on how nurses judge the cognitive function of their older adult patients in hospital. Specialising in gerontological nursing, geriatric health care services, arts and aging and healthy aging, she has also supported nursing researchers at UBC for the past eight years in her capacity as Research Coordinator. Prior to this, Elain worked as a registered nurse at the Capital District Health Authority for three years (2003-2006).
