Lesley Palmer, chief architect at the Dementia Services Development Centre, prefaced the day with an introduction to the Principles of Designing for Dementia.
Based around her extensive work in this field, Lesley took delegates through the core features underpinning design for people living with dementia, showing how this is being put into practice around the world.
