Shifting Paradigms in Dementia

Involving people living with dementia across research, policy and practice

“Shifting paradigms for dementia: Involving people living with dementia across research, policy and practice” was a Scottish Universities Insight Institute seminar series that ran from October 2017 to May 2018.

The goal of the programme was to ‘shift paradigms’ within dementia, by challenging current thinking and practice through interdisciplinary collaboration and the participation of people with dementia.

Drawing on three areas of inquiry; dementia and technology, dementia friendly communities and dementia and the arts, the seminar series looked to serve as a catalyst for change, towards the forging of knowledge partnerships between people with dementia, communities and universities as a route to sustainable, evidence-informed community development.
