Simon Kitchen is Executive Lead at Dementia Action Alliance (DAA), which brings together private, public and charity sector organisations to take action on dementia. He is responsible for the long-term strategic direction of the DAA, developing joint programmes of work with collaborators and chairing the secretariat network of local DDA coordinators. Since Simon joined DAA in 2011, membership has increased from 41 initial signatories to over 1,200 organisations and over £1million has been raised. He has spoken extensively, in public and in the media, about dementia, the DAA and the role of social action in transforming the lives of people with dementia and those that care for them. Prior to working for DAA, Simon was a senior advisor at the Sustainable Development Commission and a regeneration consultant, working with communities across England to develop and evaluate projects and programmes to turn around areas of multiple deprivation.
