Margaret Oldfield, a social scientist, received her PhD in rehabilitation science from the University of Toronto. Through the lens of critical disability studies, she explores the experiences of residents of care/nursing homes; collaboration among staff, family members, and residents; and non-institutional alternatives to nursing homes. She is on the steering committee of the international organization Reimagining Dementia: A Creative Coalition for Justice.
