Luca Brunelli is a PhD candidate in the School of the Built Environment at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh and Director of bblab, an open structure laboratory for architecture and urban design. Luca is interested in the links between health, wellbeing and the built environment at all scales and in very different socio-economic and geographical contexts. His doctoral research is on urban design and the ageing population. It focuses, in particular, on how the public realm and public urban spaces can be considered as salutogenic and supportive for healthy ageing policies and practices. Prior to moving to the UK, Luca was Associate Professor at the Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera in Valencia, Spain and served as a visiting Lecturer at universities in Norway and Panama. He is editor of the Spanish blog, Colectivo Lazareto.
