Liz Fuggle is a Senior Architect and Associate at BPA Architecture. She is chiefly involved in designing care environments, with a strong emphasis on dementia-friendly design. Liz was Project Architect for Care UK's 90-bed Care Home, Cairdean House, in Edinburgh and worked on the rebranding of Devon County Council's 23 care homes to a new high dementia-design standard. Liz is an Associate at the Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC) at the University of Stirling. She provides architectural consultancy services for DSDC and is involved in teaching at its regular Design Schools in Manchester, Belfast, London and Stirling. She is one of the auditors who assesses homes applying for awards under the DSDC scheme. She has also recently been involved in the design and development of the Virtual Hospital and Virtual Care Home design tool commissioned by the DSDC and sponsored by Bosch.
