Janet Gibson lectured in Communication for many years at various Australian universities and now manages an undergraduate Communication pathway program at UTS College, where she teaches on ‘Citizenship and Dementia’. Her research interests lie in the nexus between dementia, ageing, narrative and performance. She is particularly interested in applied theatre interventions and issues of access for people with dementia to public stages. She is also researches and writes on representations of dementia in verbatim and autobiographical productions. As well, she is an actor having performed for Tectonic Theatre Company in their production of 'Women in Beckett' in New York City.
