James Rupert Fletcher is a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Global Health & Social Medicine at King’s College London. He lectures on social gerontology, social theory, dementia research, research methods and research ethics. He is interested in interpretative and critical approaches to dementia, particularly in relation to dementia research and informal care. He is also interested in ageing and cognitive decline. His work is informed by symbolic interactionist and antipsychiatrist ideas, as well as social theory more generally.
