Dr Lucy Burke is a Principal Lecturer in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Manchester Metropolitan University, Associate Fellow at the Centre for Ethics in Medicine and Society at Monash University, academic partner on the senior creative team for Sick! Festival (funded by Arts Council England) and on the steering group of the Northern Network of Medical Humanities Research. She is on the editorial board of the Journal of Literary and Cultural Disability Studies and she is currently editing a special edition of Palgrave Communications on new critical and creative approaches to Dementia and has published widely on arts and humanities based approaches to cognitive difference, neurodiversity and ageing.
